The meetings were organized under the Jamii Thabiti Programme to revive, establish and support Nyando, Muhoroni, Kisumu Central and Kisumu West sub-counties peace committees and community platforms to actively engage in peace and security initiatives from the sub county level to the village level.
One of the meetings took place on 20Th / January at Kisumu while the other three took place on 26Th / January /2017 at Ojola and Kisumu. The meetings focused on the approach and structure to be used to revive and establish community level peace building committees that will act as peace monitors before, during and after the elections linking this with the ongoing Jamii Thabiti programs. Presentations and discussion on their roles help them to understand their working areas and the impact they could bring during this electioneering period. The participants were all in agreement that there was need to bring more stakeholders on board and bridge the gaps among the community peace committees that had dropped or not active. Among those that attended the meetings were;

- IDP`s representatives and
- Council of elders
