Whereas LCPI ingrains conflict sensitivity in all its programs, this particular program is for the strategic aim of enriching its knowledge base and sharing this with partners. As such, this program’s methodological approaches include:

  • Conflict sensitivity assessments
  • Conflict sensitivity programming
  • Capacity building (including training, mentoring and accompaniment)
  • Action Research and Analysis (on concept and practice of conflict sensitivity)
  • Awareness creation, accompaniment and mentoring
  • Lobbying and advocacy

Peace building and conflict transformation

LCPI embraces the transformative approach to peace building – seeking to address not only symptoms of conflict but also their structural underpinnings. Methodological approaches include:

  • Conflict Analysis
  • Early Warning and Early Response
  • Non violent Actions/Practices
  • Alternatives to Violence (AVP)
  • Facilitation (Dialogue and peace, conferences/meetings)
  • Capacity building through training and mentoring, and media engagement for peace

Advisory through effective insights and guidance

Socio-Economic Transformation

Socio-economic factors form part of the structural conditions explaining visible and invisible violence. LCPI endeavors to positively change the socio-economic conditions of communities and groups, with a view to transforming conflicts. Such efforts are informed by conflict-sensitive practice.
